Conference Hotel

The conference will be held at the Herrenkrug Parkhotel, Magdeburg.

The Herrenkrug Hotel is situated in the middle of an extensive park on the banks of the Elbe river on the edge of the city of Magdeburg. The hotel has well-equipped rooms, full conference facilities, as well as a swimming pool, sauna, and many other recreational features.

Prices

For the ESM 2004 conference we have negotiated a special room rate of 88,- EUR per night, which includes use of all facilities and a luxury breakfast buffet.

Please note that the special room rate will only be held until one month before the conference. Room reservations carried out after that time will be subject to the (higher) standard room price. Please quote the keyword ESM2004 when making your reservations.

Travel Information

By Airplane

Berlin-Tegel: This is the nearest international airport, about 120 km and 1.5 hour train ride from Magdeburg.

Berlin-Schönefeld: Located as near to Magdeburg as the Tegel airport, Schönefeld is not served by as many airlines as Tegel. From the airport foyer exit, you proceed with the Terminal Shuttle to the Schönefeld train station where you change to the AirportExpress that circulates regularly, i.e. every 30 minutes during the day-time, and takes you to the Ostbahnhof station within 16 minutes at a modest ticket price. From Ostbahnhof, you proceed to Magdeburg with Deutsche Bahn.

Leipzig/Halle Located south of Magdeburg, this arirport is also served by some airlines. Trains leave for Magdeburg every 60 minutes and they need about 75 minutes.

By Train

Take the ICE, IC or IR to Magdeburg Central Station (Hauptbahnhof). Either take a taxi or take Tram 6 to the end stop “Herrenkrug” (The hotel is 600 m from here) or take a local train to the “Herrenkrug” stop.

By Car

From the A2: take the exit “Magdeburg-Zentrum” to the city center. Then take the exit for “Burg/Dessau B1” and turn left after the second bridge over the river Elbe and follow the signs for „Herrenkrug“.

From Burg/Dessau/Zerbst B 184 or B 1: When you get to Magdeburg continue to the city center. Turn right at the BP gas station and follow the street to the Herrenkrug Hotel.
