Our research focus is on various aspects of User Interface Engineering as an interdisciplinary development method based on traditional Usability Engineering approaches with a focus on User Experience. We are developing novel metaphors, visualization and interaction techniques for a seamless interaction in environments with multiple displays and devices (focussing on Tabletop & Surface Computing) as well as Mixed Reality Environments. Our goal is to design, prototype, implement, and evaluate Smart User Interfaces as visual user interfaces for the next generation experience using natural ways of interaction. Please also see a list of our research collaborations.
For our research and courses we have our own modern User Interface Lab including five tabletops (multitouch and pen-operated as well as combined solutions).
Current and previous research projects of the UISE group are described in detail.
The User Interface Colloquium provides a platform for scientific exchange and discussion.
Here you will find publications starting from November, 2007.
Our modern User Interface research lab is described with details and pictures of the technical equipment.
