abstract = {We propose an interactive modeling technique to form solid objects
with curved surfaces as if we were sculpting them. Users can
remove or attach arbitrary ellipsoid shapes from or to a solid
object by operating virtual chisels, and the surface changes in
every carving operation in real time. The shape of a carved solid
object is described with a CSG model. The carved solid objects
generated by our virtual sculpting system look like real wooden
sculptures. Thus we propose a method to generate a woodcut print
from the virtual printing block generated by our system.},
